There are a few captions a quotations that go Viral. These go viral because they are catchy, simple and looks like very obvious. I see a lot of these things and often wonder why at 1st place is it getting shared?
Its very dumb and mostly not true.
Here is one such thing which i came across recently on facebook
- "7 Billion People 14 Billion Faces".
Do you agree with this?( I wont )
It is scientifically proven that, at any given point of time, every man will know at least 150 people by name and interests. 150 is the maximum no. where a human mind can accommodate data about different people their nature and interests. Beyond 150, you will just know them and you wont be able to know personally much about them ( you can test this by opening your note pad and start typing people you know. You will be surprised to see how many people you know well) Given that you know 150 people. Can you tell how many people are multi-faced? Let me keep it this way. How many people in your network you think says one thing and does some other thing? or speaks some thing to you and does some thing else?
I am sure you will hardly find such people ( 0 to 4 out of 100? )
ok lets do some Math here
I pretty much assume you are have only one face(yes, i believe you speak what you meant to) and lets suppose take the worse case of all in a given group of 150. I am trying to say you are the only one who is single faced in your group of 150 which gives to be .67% of your group is good. On a global scale, out of 7 Billion people alive at this moment (ok roughly) which gives 42 Million people are good(which is very big) But this is the worse case. I believe not more than 1-2 people have such mutli face personalities(and
being an optimist, i dont think this is not even true. If some one tells some thing and does some thing else, there might be a missing trust factor or may be some other reason for this to happen) optimistically, i believe, in this case, more than 6.5 Billion people are always single faced and good.
I am still not sure why these kind of quotes go Viral but its a kind of disrespecting ourselves.
If 7 billion people have 14 billion faces, can you imagine the world to sustain? Just my thoughts
PS: Having single faced or multifaced are just my assumptions and i might be looking things in a different
perspective. I would be happy to know what you think about this.
